 | 'Church in a city – the project of a catolic-roman church in Lodz'. The main idea of this project was to create a building , which being in contrast with the traditional church buildings does not contribute to an urban dominant and do not overshadow the surrounding buildings. It tries to compose with the surroundings as much as possible, fill the exsisting frontage and bring a new quality of architecture to this part of the city. What is more, the role of a church is the background for the mass and other sacral acts. The play of light and shadow is very important as well. The designed building houses a church, sacristy, multifunctional room, priest office and flat. |
